Summary
“The Spitfire Wheat in paddock 5a was observed again on the 8th of September and the flag leaf is well out and the canopy is filling space. The crop appears healthy with no current pest or disease pressure. The paddock has had no more applications of nitrogen. No further rain events occurred to the end of August from the 23mm of rain reported on the 17th August. We have received 3.5mm of rain for September to date and a 30cm row spacing is proving beneficial but the crop will show signs of moisture stress if no rain falls in 7-10 days. The crop is on target for an average yield.” Tony Pratt – 8th September 2014.
